If I could go back in time...

This picture was taken at the Solvay Conference in 1927. This particular year, the subject was electrons and photons, and 17 of 29 attendees went on to win Nobel Prizes (interestingly, the only woman present [Marie Curie] went on to be the first to win two Nobels, in the separate disciplines of physics and chemistry)

I think I would give my left pinky toe to be a fly on the wall at this meeting. Wow.

It also makes me wonder what they talked about...were they science dorks geeking out about new discoveries or theories, or did they ask about the kids back home too?

The one quote I did find from the conference:

Einstein (disenchanted with Heisenberg's Principle of Uncertainty): "God does not play dice." Bohr: "Einstein, stop telling God what to do."
