Miguel's Tacos: a local favorite. Giant portions (that entire meal cost $11 with tax and tip, no joke). I ended up eating in my hotel room after a long wander through Coronado, it was a perfect way to get out of the sun for a bit and relax.

Work Trip to San Diego: Coronado
This place was freaking adorable.
Everyone calls this hotel the "Del." There's a really good public beach just on the other side, so it's a very popular destination.

Work Trip to San Diego: View from the Plane
Downtown San Diego! I had a perfect vantage from my seat.

(err, sort of. this was in the airport, and really cool!)

The area in the foreground is the mainland, and then Coronado is in the center. My hotel was about where the photo ends on the right side, but looking towards the mainland.

Downtown San Diego is in the center, and you can see the bridge from the mainland to Coronado Island (which is not an island, it's a peninsula that connects to the mainland on the other side, but hey, semantics). The airport for the public is on the mainland; the airport on the peninsulisland is a military base.

Twin Cities Eats: Mama's Pizza
On Friday, I sent mom a link to this review about Mama's Pizza from Heavy Table with the subject line "next time we need a spot for family dinner, we should go!" And we went the next day, after mom saying that I put a bug in her ear about delicious old school pizza and meatballs. It was hopping on a Saturday night, and between generous portions, velvety wonderful meatballs, and the adorable cones at the end of the meal? Dinner at Mama's was a great idea.

Twin Cities Eats: I Heart Pho
I Heart Pho is on the east side of St. Paul and makes some delicious soup. Clear and tasty broth, good vegetables, and hey, there's boba! There's always room for boba.

A Wild Belated Christmas
A belated celebration with family friends meant $5 white elephants, the Minnesota Wild Winter Classic (why yes, we did beat the Blackhawks), and some delicious meat pie.

Work Trip to Tyler, Texas
View from my hotel room: the color of the sky in Texas just blew me away.
Now, the drivers terrified me. That place is...scary. But the sky? Pretty great.
You'd never know how cool this place is on the inside.
From the green and blue of Dallas to the brown, gray, and snow-covered Minnesota in the wintertime:

Work Trip to Miami: The Conference
My part of the gig is helping physicians present clinical data to other physicians.
What's a conference without a ridiculous Star Wars entrance?
All the data, all the time.
