During the majority of the year, Montreux is a somewhat sleepy small town on the Swiss Riviera. But for two weeks in July, the city comes alive with the sounds of music.
The Montreux Jazz Festival began in 1967 and has transitioned from a three day jazz event to one of the largest celebrations of music around the world. Over 200,000 people visit Montreux each festival season for the many concerts, master classes, and lectures, making the town feel anything but sleepy.
I'm entirely certain my life would be better with more waffles.
