Monet

I had no idea that there was archival footage of Monet painting at Giverny:

I also found some interesting information about how Monet's cataracts changed his sight and his painting; fascinating. I've loved Monet since I was a little girl reading the lovely "Linnea in Monet's Garden" --and the thought of seeing the real thing someday sends shivers down my spine.

Bridget, Until you get to France, I've got just the thing for you. The New York Botanical Garden and the Metropolitan Museum of Art are going to recreate Monet's garden at Giverny inside the conservatory this summer. Here's some more info.

Thanks for posting the footage of Monet. Like you, I didn't know that there was any.

And on a technical note, how were you able to resize the YouTube video in blogger? Mine are always so small.

I'm going to be in New York City in June for a weekend, and this sounds absolutely perfect. What a fabulous idea for an exhibit!

As far as re-sizing youtube videos goes, I spent some time awhile back in the day pulling my hair out trying to figure out how to do it; most of the time they end up larger-ish when I check them in my google reader, but then a bit squished, sometimes the right size, sometimes cut off, on the actual page of my blog. I don't really know what I did to make this one work, sorry I can't provide any guidance!

Thanks, Bridget. I guess that I'll just have to stick to the smaller size.
