dresser love.

All right interwebs...what about this beauty? What would you pay for it? I think it'd look great in my bedroom, but the cost is a little steep. Thoughts?

I don't have a good answer for you (sorry!), but I can offer you some questions to think about that may help.

Do you think it's high enough quality that you'd be able to use it (and sturdy enough to move) post MIT days? Have you checked IKEA or Target or Craiglist for a similar, cheaper, alternative, and if one exists, does it outweigh this one in something other than price?

Good luck--it's beautiful.

It is in fact from Craigslist, but it is $350. It is listed as being in excellent condition, and it is a piece from the early 1960s. The problem that I have with most things I find from Craigslist is that I don't have the necessary equipment to refinish and varnish...I could maybe paint something, though...but even then my ability to fix furniture that is broken (aka, most of the cheap things on Craigslist) ...well, I'm just not that good at that sort of thing. So buying something in really good shape is a good plan for me.

I do like Ikea/Target but they're things are very modern looking in comparison to my apartment's built-in...it would look kind of awkward.

And I do love the aesthetic. It's a beautiful piece.
